Television has several uses. It is the most important medium of entertainment, education and instruction. It is a powerful audio and visual medium to educate people. It telecasts the pictures of events, natural scenes, games, battle, etc. It serves as an important medium for businessmen. We know current news through TV.
It has some abuses too. It is not cheap to have a television set for the poor. Only the rich can afford it. Children spend their time on watching the programs. Its regular watching decreases eyesight power. Watching too much television is not good for our health. Television makes us antisocial, taking the place of family and friends. Television programs can ruin your relationships as well.
Some blame the television for society's violence, consumerism, and misinformation, while others see it as a rich resource for education and global understanding. It provides many good programmes and bad programs; it is our responsibility to choose right programmes for us.
