MANAKAMANA
Last year I went to Manakamana with my parents. It is one of the most famous religious places of Nepal. The Manakamana Devi temple is a highly venerated sacred place of the Hindu. It is believed that the Devi rewards those who make the pilgrimage to her shrine by granting their wishes.
We got on cable car from Kurintar and reached the temple in 10 minutes. I found the place very amusing. It was winter season but the weather was very clear. So, we could see high Himalayas covered in snow. The orange orchards added more beauty to the place. What attracted me most was the temple which is popular from many years in the past. The temple faces the south and it has one door to enter the temple and come out of the temple. It is still unknown about who made the temple. The temple is made in Shikhar Shaily. We can see wood carvings (arts to make picture, sign on wood) on the door and other parts of the temple.
There is always a crowd of people to worship goddess Manakamana. It is believed that our wishes are fulfilled if we visit, worship and pray to goddess. The temple is the centre of attraction to many tourists. We can see both Nepali and foreigner. Cable car has added more attraction to the temple because people of any age can go there and worship the goddess. It is believed that the temple is important for the unification of Nepal, because it was the goddess who told King Prithivi Narayan shah to unify Nepal in dream. We worshipped goddess bought Malas and other artistic object, took photos, go trekking and so on…
