There are many events in the history of our country. Among them I think the event of 2007 B.S. is the most important. In 2007 B.S. democracy was established in Nepal for the first time and multiparty system came into existence.
Before 2007 B.S. the Ranas were ruling over Nepal. They were very cruel and tyrant. All the fundamental rights of the people were captured by them. People did not have their fundamental right as right to expression, education, and politics. Political parties were banned. Even the king was caged in the palace. He was just the idle because he could do nothing against them. They hang the people who raised the voice against them.
The aristocratic Rana regime that began from 2nd Aswin, 1903 BS existed for 104 years in Nepal. The lack of public consciousness was the main reason that there were no revolts against the Rana regime. But slowly with citizens becoming more conscious, there was collective resistance all over Nepal.
So, some conscious leaders, educated people and even the king campaigned against the tyrants. They started a revolution against the Ranas and at last they got success to achieve their goal. Then political parties were freed. All the political prisoners were freed. All the rights were taken from the Ranas and given to the king Tribhuvan. Constitution was introduced by the Constituent Assembly voted by the citizens. Multi Party system was established in Nepal on Falgun 7, 2007 B.S.
