This one sentence poem describes the joyless moon that does not find anything constant in this world. It is itself inconstant. That is why it seems to be in quest of constancy.

 

Summary

The poem is a short and interesting lyrical poem. The entire poem is a sentence, which contain only six lines. The poet reveals on the endless journey of the moon. The poet feels that the moon is tired of staring the earth continuously for appropriate companion. It looks pale because of its tiredness due to endless journey and searching on the earth with a parallel companion.


It is all alone in the company of the stars in the sky, which have a different birth and origin than the moon. The moon has been searching its companion through endless journey wandering all around. It changes its appearance from time to time to express the disgust form the world. The moon hasn't found the heartily companion as its desired. It is in search of a companion suited to its noble birth, but could not find like its own. So, the moon has been changing gradually.

 

The poem is about the moon, which doesn't find suitable companion in the universe but still searching with the hope of finding right companion. The moon doesn't accept that the stars are right companion to her because they have inferior birth, that's why she is searching like her genuine status companion on the earth. Sometimes, she feels disappointed for her inability to find the right character, so she changes her expression but does not quit her hope to find the companion like her.
