My Journey Through Innocence: A Glimpse into My Childhood Life

 

I came into this world on a sunny day, the 15th of May, in a quaint little town called Kathmandu. The year was 2002, and the joyous occasion took place in the cozy confines of Teaching Hospital.

 

My journey through formal education began when I turned five, as I eagerly stepped into the colorful world of kindergarten. Bright-eyed and filled with curiosity, I quickly adapted to the school routine, making new friends and discovering the joys of learning. Over the years, I progressed through various grade levels, exploring different subjects and nurturing my academic interests.

 

I was fortunate to be born into a loving and supportive family. My parents were the pillars of my life, always there to guide and encourage me. My father, a hardworking engineer, instilled in me the value of perseverance and dedication, while my kind-hearted mother, a teacher, ignited my passion for knowledge and learning.

 

One of the most memorable events of my childhood was my ninth birthday celebration. It was a simple affair, but the joy I experienced was immeasurable. Surrounded by my closest friends and family, I blew out the candles on a delicious homemade chocolate cake and unwrapped thoughtful gifts that made my heart leap with delight. That day, I felt an overwhelming sense of love and warmth, cherishing the precious moments spent with those who mattered the most.

 

A typical day in my childhood life revolved around the simple pleasures that brought happiness to my heart. Mornings began with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the sweet sound of birds chirping outside my window. After a hearty breakfast prepared by my mother, I would eagerly set off for school, my backpack filled with books and dreams.

 

School hours were filled with laughter, learning, and a sense of friendship among classmates. As the afternoon sun bathed the playground, I would participate in games and make fond memories with friends. Upon returning home, my afternoons were dedicated to completing homework, pursuing hobbies, and spending quality time with my family.

In the quiet of the night, I would lay in bed, my mind drifting into dreams where I was an astronaut exploring the cosmos, a daring adventurer charting uncharted territories, or a writer penning stories of wonder and mystery.

 

Looking back on my childhood, I am filled with nostalgia and gratitude for the wonderful experiences that shaped my early years. They have laid the foundation for the person I am today, instilling in me the values of love, empathy, and a thirst for knowledge that continues to guide me through life's journey.

The hailstorm last week wasn’t a large one, but it caused many accidents. The hailstones started to come down in the late afternoon and were followed by rain. I saw it through the window of the restaurant. It had been raining for an hour and a half when we started for home.

The vehicles were being driven slowly because of the downpour. The visibility was poor and the wind was howling.  There had been landslides in many places and driving was dangerous. Earlier the wind had been blowing forcefully but, by the time we started off, it had calmed down. The downpour had turned into a drizzle and brought thunder and lightning.

I’d been driving for an hour when the accident happened. My wipers hadn’t been working, and the rain was spattering my windscreen, so I couldn’t see well. I’d been stopping to clean my windscreen every few minutes. I had just started the engine again when my tyres stared to slip. The truck slipped onto the side of the road, hit the hill, turned over and stopped.

I felt and looked to see if I was hurt, but I wasn’t. I had been driving quite slowly and luckily the bend was quite wide. It was very quiet, with just the sounds of music and falling rain; I’d been playing the cassette. I liked for my khalasi but couldn’t find him. Soon there was a long queue of vehicles and people were all round me asking questions about the accident. I heard them talking about two more accidents in which three people had died and ten others had been injured. Suddenly, someone shouted that there was a man lying beside the road. Ti was my khalasi. He had been lying unconscious for half an hour. He was helped…
